Board Archive import

How to import a saved .postit board into Peel

If you exported a board archive from the older app and still have its .postit file, Peel can open that file on iPhone or iPad. Keep the original archive until you have checked the imported board.

Move your saved board

  1. Find your saved archive

Open the Files app. Check iCloud Drive, On My iPhone or iPad, and the folder of the app you used before. Look for a file ending in .postit. Peel cannot retrieve boards from another app's account or a discontinued service if you do not have an exported file.

  2. Open it in Peel

In Peel, open Boards, tap +, choose Import Old Boards, then Board Archive Files. Select one or more .postit files. For several files in one folder, choose Folder of Board Archives instead. You can also open a .postit file from Files and choose Peel.

  3. Check the preview

Peel shows group names, note counts, and sample note thumbnails before saving. Check these against the original archive. Previewing does not require Peel Pro.

  4. Save and verify

Tap Import to save the board. Saving an imported board requires Peel Pro. Open the saved board and compare important notes and images with your original archive; keep that file as a backup.

What to know before importing

  • Import has been checked with a limited set of real .postit archives. Other versions or damaged files may not open or may transfer differently.
  • Peel imports an existing archive into Peel. Compatibility with exporting a board back into the older Android app has not been verified.
  • Peel is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by 3M or the Post-it brand.
