Privacy Policy

Overview

Peel is a sticky note scanner and board organizer for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what happens to your photos, boards, purchases, and support messages.

Peel does not require a Peel account. It does not include advertising or in-app analytics.

Photos and handwriting recognition

Peel uses the camera only when you start a capture. Photos selected through the system photo picker are used for the capture you request. Note detection and handwriting recognition use Apple's on-device frameworks; your photos are not sent to a developer server for recognition.

Peel can save original capture photos, cropped note images, handwriting text, drawings, boards, and settings on your device. The camera permission can be changed in iOS Settings. Saving an exported image to Photos uses the system's add-only photo permission.

iCloud sync and storage

When iCloud is available for Peel, the app uses Apple CloudKit's private database to sync saved board data between devices signed in to your Apple Account. This can include notes, text, images, drawings, captures, board layout, and optional saved capture locations. The app also keeps a local copy and can continue locally if CloudKit is unavailable.

The developer does not receive your board contents through the app. Apple provides the iCloud service under its own terms and privacy policy. Removing Peel from one device does not necessarily remove copies stored in iCloud or on another device.

Purchases

Apple StoreKit displays product information, processes Peel Pro purchases, and provides entitlement status to the app. Prices and billing terms are shown before purchase. The developer does not receive your payment card details through Peel.

Optional capture location

Save Capture Location is off by default. If you turn it on and use the camera, Peel asks for When In Use location permission and requests a location from iOS for the capture. Peel does not request location for photos selected from your library or run background location updates. Refusing permission does not stop scanning.

Saved coordinates and an optional place description you enter stay with the capture until you remove them. If iCloud sync is available, they can sync with the rest of the board through your private iCloud database. Every export starts with Include Capture Locations off; turning it on includes saved place descriptions and coordinates only in PDF, PowerPoint, and Excel exports. Other export formats omit them.

Exports and other apps

Peel reads an archive or photo you choose in Files or the photo picker. If that file is in iCloud Drive, Apple's file service may download it before Peel can read it.

When you choose to export, save, or share a board or note, the resulting copy is sent to the destination you select. That destination's privacy practices apply to the copy.

Analytics, support, and this website

Peel has no advertising SDK, tracking SDK, or in-app analytics. If you choose to share iPhone analytics with developers, Apple may provide aggregated diagnostics under your Apple settings.

If you email support@taxlite.net, we receive your message and any information you choose to include so we can reply. When you open these pages, the website host receives technical request information needed to serve them, such as your IP address and browser details. These pages do not contain analytics scripts or advertising pixels.

Your choices

You can edit or delete your boards in Peel, remove a capture's saved location, turn Save Capture Location off, manage camera and location access in iOS Settings, manage your Apple Account's iCloud storage in Apple settings, and manage subscriptions through Apple. If you have a privacy question or want to discuss a support email you sent us, contact support@taxlite.net.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page and its date if Peel's data practices change.
