Change a voice in the app
- Start with a clip. Record speech, import audio or video, or type text for speech generation.
- Choose the sound. Try a classic effect such as Robot or Chipmunk, a built-in AI character voice, or your own authorized clone.
- Generate locally. The selected effect or voice is applied on your iPhone. Generating a finished result requires Pro.
- Keep or share it. Save the project in the app or export a file. Sharing is your choice; the destination app or service handles that copy.
VocalShift works on clips made in or imported into the app. It does not alter your voice in phone calls, FaceTime, or other apps.
What to know first
- Neural voice models download from the App Store before first use. StoreKit handles purchases; those actions need Apple services.
- The app has no account and no analytics or advertising SDKs, according to its current product configuration. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
- Imported media can be up to 5 minutes; the app requires an iPhone with iOS 18 or later.
Common questions
- Does the app upload my recording to change it?
- VocalShift's voice processing runs on the iPhone and does not send the recording to its own processing server. Exporting or sharing makes a copy available to the destination you choose.
- Will it work with no connection?
- After the needed models finish downloading, voice processing works offline. First-time downloads and purchases can require a connection.
- Can it change my voice during a call?
- No. It processes recordings, imports, and generated speech within the app, not live calls or audio in another app.
