Singing voice conversion

Can I make an AI voice cover on my iPhone?

Yes. In VocalShift, record or import a singing clip, choose Song / Music, and convert the vocal into a built-in AI character voice or your own cloned voice. Song mode separates the vocal from the backing audio, changes its timbre, and can mix it back with the music on your iPhone.

Turn a singing clip into a cover

  1. Bring in your performance. Record in the app, or import an audio file or video from Files or a video from Photos. Imported media can be up to 5 minutes.
  2. Select Song / Music. This mode separates the vocal before voice conversion, then lets you keep the backing audio in the result.
  3. Pick a voice. Choose one of VocalShift's built-in AI character voices or a personal voice you created with permission.
  4. Generate and listen. Preview the converted clip, then save the project or export the audio or video. Generating a result requires Pro.
Use a song or recording you have the right to edit and share. Changing the vocal does not clear rights in the composition, lyrics, or backing track.

What to know first

  • This is singing voice conversion, not pitch correction or automatic song creation. It follows the source performance and melody.
  • Separation and conversion results depend on the original mix and vocal quality; a dense backing track may affect the result.
  • The neural models need an initial App Store download. Conversion then runs on-device. VocalShift requires iOS 18 or later.

Common questions

Does it remove the backing music?
Song / Music separates the vocal from the accompaniment for conversion and can remix the changed vocal with the backing audio.
Can I use a celebrity's voice?
The app provides synthetic character voices and personal voices made from authorized samples; it does not offer a catalog of celebrity voices. Clone only your own voice or one you have permission to use.
May I post my cover?
Check the rights for the song, lyrics, recording, and any voice sample before sharing. Rights to the music do not change just because the vocal was converted.
