What you can do

Practical tools for the moments you need them.

Record with control

Capture voice notes and longer sessions, including background recording with supported controls.

Edit by waveform

Trim, split, fade, reduce noise and arrange recordings.

Merge and export

Join takes and export audio in formats such as M4A, WAV or MP3.

Work with words

Transcription and summaries are available only when the required on-device Apple capabilities are available.

How it works

Start in the app and stay in control of the result.

  1. Record. Allow microphone access and capture a take.
  2. Edit. Open a recording to trim, annotate, transcribe or merge as supported.
  3. Export. Save an audio file or share it with a destination you choose.
AI availability: Transcription and summaries require iOS 26 or later and compatible device capabilities; some models or languages may be unavailable. Recording and editing have a lower iOS requirement.

Privacy, explained plainly

Recordings, edits, transcripts and notes are kept in the app's local storage unless you export them. Microphone permission is needed to record; Apple speech capabilities and purchases may use Apple services.

Frequently asked questions

Does it need microphone permission?
Yes, to record. You can change permission in iPhone Settings. Existing recordings can still be managed without granting new microphone access.
Why is transcription unavailable?
The current implementation uses Apple on-device SpeechAnalyzer on iOS 26 or later. Language and model availability can also vary.
Can it summarize on every iPhone?
No. Summaries use Apple's on-device Foundation Models and require a supported device and iOS 26 or later.
Is there a recurring subscription?
The current MicDesk purchase plan in code is a one-time Pro purchase. The purchase screen shows the current local price before confirmation.
Can I recover a deleted recording?
Keep a separate exported copy of important audio. Deleting app content or the app can remove locally stored recordings.
